I am trying to download AsmIde but I can't find where it's at.

I want to write programs for Linux using FASM.

Thanks.

I tried to download Mono Develop, but it has a lot of issues.

If you want to use FASM dedicated IDE, the only solution for now is to use Fresh IDE in WINE. You can read how to set it up in the Setup manual

Thanks.

I have gotten this far, but I can't install ddd etc.
I do not understand the proxy instructions here.

Andy

Mark selected programs for install, click on Apply button and wait until downloading and installation.

Here you can encounter only one problem - your computer is behind a proxy server.

If the proxy is a normal proxy, you simply have to set its address and port in the Synaptic preferences and it should work.

Completely another story is when the proxy is MS ISA server configured with NTLM user authorization.

Most Linux programs can't work with such authorization and Synaptic is not an exception.

Fortunately, there is a workaround of this situation. You need ntlmaps authorization proxy server.

@Fixit:
At first, as edfed mentioned, you can use FASMW in WINE as well.

The installation of the mentioned Linux programs (as ddd for example) is absolutely normal Linux installation, the way you prefer. (Another story, if you are beginner in Linux, but this case is beyond the subject of this article).

MS ISA server is Microsoft proxy, used mainly in corporate environment. If you are working from such environment you need to install "ntlmaps" program in order to support the MS ISA authorization. (I am using it when working from my job)

andLinux shared directory is a simple directory you have to create and then specify it during the andLinux installation. This directory will be mounted in the andLinux file system and this way will be accessible both from andLinux and Windows in the same time.
