Hi, i hope I'm posting this to the right place.

Sometimes (about once every two days), FASM crashes on my Windows XP Pro when compiling (when i select compile or run), or when saving and it crashes + empties the .ASM file when compiling. (So now i have to constantly back things up). And I was hoping i could get some help here.

Here is where my just-in-time debugger reports the error (but i think it can occur on multiple places as sometimes fasm does, and sometimes it doesn't destroy my file):

0040B632: MOV ECX, 100h
0040B637: XOR EDX, EDX
0040B639: LODSB
0040B63A: CMP AL, 20h
0040B63C: JE SHORT FASMW.0040B672
0040B63E: CMP AL, 3Bh
0040B640: JE FASMW.0040B6C7
0040B646: MOV AH, AL

My both versions of fasm, 1.50 & 1.52 do this, and I was wondering if someone maybe knows if there os something i can do about it? Is this something known?

Thankyou,
BlueOwl

set drwtsn32 as ur just-in-time debugger, and enable crashdump creation (run drwtsn32.exe, and drwtsn32.exe -i to enable jit)
when crash, send dump to Privalov
please

Okay, thankyou. I just changed it, and when the error occurs I will send it.

Okay, FASM crashed again on the same place (but did not destroy my project).

I have the dump (user.dmp), but only one problem: it is 27mb! compressed 10mb. My mailaccount only allows attachments up to 1mb. Or should I send drwtsn32.txt?

Thanks!

Hi. You can compress it as multi volume archive with size of every file less then the limit of your mail. Also, you can use better compression - .cab file with Lzx compression will give you probably 5..7Mbytes compressed file (i.e. 5..7 files 1Mbyte every) Try UltimateZip compressor. ( www.ultimatezip.com )

Regards.

khsv.tk

make 2 sites and upload the 2 volumes

of cource you can prefer any other free web hosts which won't delete your attachments.

but do you think it is a good idea to give Privalov a 27MB memory dump?

This may be a problem. Fasm is up to 1.56 now.
