I upgrade my machine to 4GB of RAM, so I had to install Windows 7 x64.

The problem is Windows Update fails installing updates.

Anyone else had this issue?

Thanks

Fails without any error code? It should not fail. Check that your system clock is correct, sometimes the error is as simple as that.

Error code is: 80070643

I tried all MS fixes. None solved.

Ok. I gave up Windows.

I'll be running only Linux on this machine.

After 3 reinstalls my patience is gone. I still have Windows on another machine if I need to compile my programs for Windows.

Linux gave me no hassles at all.

Windows gave me several:
* Would only install if the HD was the first in BIOS.
* After install Windows Update crashed the system.
* Too time consuming to install all programs.

And they say Linux is hard. Confused

Windows is easy because it comes pre-installed.

If users had to install and configure it would be harder.

With Ubuntu you can browse the web and chat while you install it. It's lot less scary/more user-friendly.
