I was talking in general terms. I wrote this "some of them forget what GUI means". "Them" means in general terms, not a specific program. Most discussions that arise is based on people not reading the post.

and a very simplistic ad... The ad may be over kill depending on your perspective, but it makes money?

Hah, I almost splurted my coffee all over - that was a good laugh Smile

See it as you will, there are more and more ads in applications, many iOS and Android aps have annoying flashy ads, the amazon kindle even has an ad version that for $15 you can remove. A simple ad like the one above is much better than these. While as I don't like them, it's still paying for there services, but costed you nothing but an extra button/link

Cracks usually contains cool ads, company ads usually contain dollar marks and flashy things. I differ between skidrow-type ads and business ads. Skidrow ads I can live with, business ads I will never like.

When I say awful GUis I mean: why do they need to make a custom X button when standard windows provide one?

This just make it less familiar for the user with no added benefit.

OzzY because it adds to the strange identity crackers want to have. They want to feel "on top" of everything, overriding the default windows system is just one way to improve on the unique identity. Anything that is produced has a reason, if you dig it, you'll find things you don't want to know. Very Happy

Do you see that BIG "orion" logo (how can you not see it) if you watch further down, they had to put "Orion" in the edit control too, "just in case you didn't notice the logo" Rolling Eyes

We're dealing with bizarre psychology here. Extreme narcissism.

"Here, let me hammer my name in your forehead ten times, using a sledge hammer, afterwards, I'm going to write my name on your socks, just in case you didn't feel the sledge hammer good enough"
