Do you mean: how to power off the system using the ACPI?

AFAIK the power LED on many systems is not software controlled independently of the power system. However there are many many disparate systems out there so perhaps your system does allow it. If so then I suggest you ask the manufacturer since it will most likely be something proprietary.

there are 3 leds on a keyboard that you can control by software.
i suggest you to use them as signals when the computer is busy or so.

something like fast blinking or scrolling would be cool enough. the same goes for the screen.
a 1024*768 screen is equivalent to approximately a one million leds matrix. you can here, use the screen as a very good universal indicator. Smile
