He wasn't the first person walking on the Moon.

No one, yet. At least not a human being.

Are you saying that Neil Armstrong was not a human?

Hehe, malpolud, do you mean Mr Twardowski, a figure from the Polish folk tales who is believed to live on the Moon since a few centuries, am I right? Razz Wink

Perhaps he wasn't?

E: No, I'm serious about it. In a couple of years Chinese people will really land on the Moon and they will find lack of the American flag and foot-steps. But quite a smart thinking MHajduk Smile

I can't give you one evidence. There are a bunch of facts that bound together are convincing for me. For example US President claimed they will send a man on the Moon in about 10-20 years from now, why so long? If there is a need to go there and if it already happened 40 years ago one could go there right now. In the Cold War times US failed the space race against USSR many times (first satellite, first living being in space, first human in space). They were in need of something what would give them back the leadership so they made the whole lie. Furthermore some of the classic claims about the way of moving in the gravitational field of the Moon and the way the Sun-light looks like are very accurate.

I think most people in Poland did hear about it (though I'm not sure about the young generation). And about Mirosław Hermaszewski, too.

If there really was an urgent need, then maybe they could arrange a budget comparable to that from '60s, but sadly people who think we should pursue space exploration are in minority and NASA budget only goes down recently.

Conspiracy or no conspiracy, landing or no landing, one thing is sure, what happened to the US space program has left many disappointed.
I find it outrageous NASA gets less than .5% of the budget when they can find 660 billions for bombing people all over the world.
Goes to show where their priorities lie: private interests instead of Humanity's progress... and maybe even survival...

I would like some bungee jumping on the moon some day, with all the safety measures and stuff included of course.

The NASA budget each year are reduced.
And the fact that they already got to the Moon, ¿why go again?

If they really spend money on this, it would be really STUPID. With uppercase letters.
It´s like waisting money for doing the same thing for "no good reason".

What they should really do, is push more the limits and send a men to Mars. Not to the moon again, its usles.

Humans have only visited an extremely tiny portion of the Moon. There is still so much more to explore and learn. And practicality-wise it is considerably closer, safer, easier and cheaper to go there than to Mars.

Besides we have to keep looking for those pink unicorns. I just know they are there, we just haven't looked hard enough.

Well NASA claims people have been to the Moon several times.
