As I understand until now, MMX can be used when you want to execute the same operation with multiple data. This mean that can be useful for example to create a grayscaled image from a 24 bit bitmap. The bad part is that I never used MMX instructions so I'm a little fuzzy. Can someone show me a basic example of using MMX? Thanks in advance!

It is better to use SSE (if supported). See this for example usage: http://board.flatassembler.net/topic.php?t=14466
