What I can't fathom is why the passenger felt it was necessary to call the police rather than simply ask the other passenger "What is that going on there?". And presumably a simple reply of "Oh, it's just my eFag." and the world continues on happily. <sigh> A sign of the times I guess, the culture of fear and stranger danger.

A simple misunderstanding tuns into that! Ludicrous.

A bomb squad, fireman squad, dog sniffers and patrolman where called because someone reported smoke from a bag?

Wow. One of my co-workers has one, and he was told by HR that he had to use it outdoors, after several people complained about it. I think it's ridiculous. I smoke a good old-fashioned tobacco pipe myself, I find it's a good way to pass a cool evening with a book. And yet, some poeple think I've got quite a bit more in it than tobacco. People are far too sensitive, and I suspect it's because most people merely follow the crowd rather than thinking on their own.
