- why people still couldn't customize laptop with their own personal specifications?

- i think amazon should grab this market years ago, modular laptop business

- choose your cpu, screen resolution, gpu, keyboard backlight, screen size, os, count of usb you want, dvd or no drive, sdd, etc

- then i thought about how to create a currency that impossible for people to exchange with another currency,

- maybe it just impossible, coz people exchange gold with fiat currency Laughing

- time based economy is pretty fair, but the issue is how one job is to equal x hours

- what if everyone create their own currency Wink like how crypto currencies exists

- it would come to near impossible to exchange 7 billions type of currencies

- it could be service / goods based crypto currencies, lawyer crypto coin, programmers crypto coin, doctors crypto coin and etc

- government will control the release of each sectors crypto to public in monthly term, control economy activities in one sense.

- each crypto that running in the market will have live statistic online, government become the only crypto exchanger, no more bankers.

- the value of each crypto is based on services / goods supply demand

- so how you could earn others crypto? providing them services / goods so that they demand your sectors crypto to pay you

- the crypto you earn from others (different sectors, when people transfer / pay to you) will be in your digital wallet that allow you to change to any kind of others sector crypto

- overall impact is, the greater sector services provided cause demand, demand cause higher exchange value

- demand also motivate others into this sector and sooner or later, value will get balanced

- for control goods or dangerous item that only certain parties could purchase, government could control such transactions by issuing limited crypto that only available to authorized parties that cannot be exchange (which is too easy to monitor)

- for actions that using invalid sectors crypto during transaction, government could set up penalty, law,

- i see such approach will provide a more clear and live statistic on country performance

What are you talking about?

Many laptop manufacturers have been providing such services for years. For example, Lenovo's ThinkPad laptops are highly customizable. Refer to:

sleepsleep doesn't understand the supply chain issues. Actually if you want a very specific set of options that are purely for your personal needs then you can get that, but be prepared to pay a lot and to wait for a long time for it to be manufactured. However if you want it cheap and you want it now then you have to choose only what is common and/or popular.

Some laptop manufacturers offer a limited set of custom options (e.g. Dell and IBM) but that only goes so far. Some things just aren't possible to do on an ad-hoc basis. Even one of the cheapest parts, the plastic casing, is only cheap if runs of a thousands are produced. So if you wanted 17 USB ports then producing a case for that would require a run of one unit, costing a lot. And that is just one of many parts that need specialisations to support different options.

why i cannot buy a hp keyboard and change it into my ibm laptop?
why i cannot buy a ibm screen and change it to my acer laptop?
cannot use hp battery in dell laptop?
because each of them implementing their own standard,

why i cannot reuse my previous laptop keyboard?
you can solve casing issue with 3D printer,

laptop should be modular, this is absolutely not supply chain issues as claimed by revolution,
this is more to greed and protecting their own market territory and at the same time polluting unnecessary on earth,

consider so many companies producing plastic packaging for their products and hardly bother where those plastics end up, this is selfish,

every companies should collect back their shits after they selling them into market, consumers must handle back those shits to them and this will force them to invent more efficient method to deal with shits,

If you want a modular laptop then you lose all the flexibility of size and form. And what you end up with is something not too dissimilar to existing desktops with extra slots and bulky cases etc. You might be okay with that but it is not really a laptop anymore, it is a mini case computer like we already have.

GPU: Built-in or standalone
and other options ...

If you still don't think the above list is good enough, you should try to manufacture your own laptop.

The lack of OS options has nothing to with hardware manufacturers. Just blame M$ for its dominance in the software market.

If the manufacturers do not have any unique features in their products, how could they differentiate themselves from the competitors? Without competitions, there will no choices. At the end of the day, the customers will suffer.

I want to learn more about it before I go there. Anyhow it is only a stones throw away so not worth a special journey. Perhaps if I am on the way to somewhere I drop in for a quick look.

That is the key. Humans, if put into long-term cryogenic and hibernative sleep, can actually get there!

OMG no. Just NO! Nuh uh. Do not want. If that had happened then we would all be stuck with using the ENIAC forever.

What the government should do is to standardize power adapters and their voltages. That makes charging laptops far more convenient.

ENIAC was the first electronic general-purpose computer. It was Turing-complete, digital, and could solve "a large class of numerical problems" through reprogramming. Wikipedia

a friend of mine, which is not my client,

their company computers were hit by ransomware zepto, the new variant from locky,

their IT department ask them to pull out the LAN cable,

i told her, you should switch off all pc immediately, coz the virus will keeps on encrypt your files even if you are offline Laughing Laughing Laughing

this is fucking hilarious, Laughing Laughing since when the idea pulling out the LAN cable will stop virus from working?

but this is actually quite interesting, how hackers could change this world, with the power we got, we could nail those evil companies remotely.

Because everyone seems okay with letting random websites control¹ their computers² it is not surprising that they consider viruses also work only when connected to the Internet³.

¹ using JS and FLASH and whatever other active content

² many people seem to think the browser is the computer

³ and all the X-as-a-service companies haven't helped matters by blurring the line between what is done locally and what is done remotely
