HAHA, I GOT IT ON MY FIRST TRY WITH oricals virtual box! (Sure I dedicated 50% of my ram to it, and sure it eats up my hard disk activity like its the only OS running) But it works!!!
No! What do you mean I have some sort of teen age male rivalry going on with typedef?

Nice. So what's it like ? Anything worth using it apart from the GUI ?
My internet is too slow (stupid AT&T) for 2GB. (I get 56Kb/s and that's like 5 days downloading this shit so I won't even try unless you make a torrent ). Haha you were watching porn. I can see Chrome is in Incognito mode. No I don't go incognito... PS: I know you live in Ohio. You didn't have to hide it. |

Does that "Start" text do something when pressed? (something like showing Windows 7 start menu or a very similar stuff)
What happens when you press the Windows logo key of your keyboard? Although this new GUI would stop my bad habit of collecting files on the desktop, I actually want to still continue with such bad habit so not liking this so far |

typedef wrote: Nice. So what's it like ? Anything worth using it apart from the GUI ? Well, it's like trying to use a "smart" phone with a trackpad and keyboard. Even IE opens in full screen, only instead of pressing F11 to leave you, press the home button/windows key... I'll have to install this new version on my old laptop (I had only tried developer preview, not user...)... It's rather slow and awkward to use in a VM... and I'd imagine unless your on a tablet it's awkward anyway. Quote: My internet is too slow (stupid AT&T) for 2GB. (something like showing Windows 7 start menu or a very similar stuff) Oh no, Thats just saying that the start menu is open, see there is a desktop icon in that menu that takes you to the classic windows 7 style desktop, but when you click start this opens up, you can edit the registry though so it uses the old start menu... |

I never thought about everyone jumping on it... okay I have created a private torrent... (EDIT: REMOVED; IF YOU NEED IT PM ME..) I think it might work, I dunno, never tried to make one... note its 32bit version, I zipped it so the forum would let me upload it, tell me once its done...
Also it seems the old start menu hack no longer works, they completely removed it!!! There is no start menu other than the *cough*geo*cough metro style! Last edited by Coty on 01 Mar 2012, 22:25; edited 1 time in total |

I get the impression that MS is trying to turn the desktop into looking and operating like a phone. Ugh! If I'd wanted a smart phone I would have bought one. MS marketing: "Just trust us, we'll look after you. If we decide that something is bad for you then we'll delete it. Aren't you lucky you have us to look out for you."
W8 all about content consumption, and ever more elaborate ways to waste time. Hehe, just great for some people I guess. |

No problem, yeah 2hrs is almost a direct link when it comes to the www
OMG! I can remotely access my xbox from win8! Of course the app is limited to only previewing the menu and stuff currently, maybe soon I can remotely play games on it... I like the windows 8 fish.... http://www.technologytell.com/gadgets/files/2012/02/windows-8-metro-fish-wallpaper-640.jpg the window shaped windows (they're square shaped!)... and the app store isn't to bad, but needs work... also I want my normal start menu back... I think if they're going to have a geo metro style, they should make if flow with the desktop more and not have people getting lost and not knowing to press the windows key... |

I dunno, its just a fish... Placed on the background wallpaper for the desktop by default and is the loading screen...
Maybe they'll finally drop "Windows" and call it "Aquarium" or something... Like Fishy-OS... Code: >(~') ^ its a fish |

No problem, LOL, the thing with ceder point is the over priced food and drink who really wants to pay $3-4 for a slice of pizza?

It's funny how you complain about a slice of pizza being $4 but still pay $5 for XBL.
There's restaurants at Cedar point too, far west of the Island. They have good food there. Yummy !! By the way, M$ changed the BSOD screen to the one above Doesn't look more professional, the former BSOD screen did. |
