This is a forum, not a fucking chat room.
Thanks. |

Good Idea.
with chat room, we don't need to wait for our answers. We ask them online, then we get our question in less than a minute. NICE ![]() |

I think you are only hoping, that Tomek is online and answer your question realtime.
Forget about it. ![]() But in my eyes you could close the Heap forum here and link it to any chat. For whom it may concern - talking some nonsens. I think this is a platform for serious development. But not sure about it. ![]() Maybe it is good idea to create a kind of newbie forum somewhere for some beginner questions for assembler general. But maybe put a link to same chat. ![]() |

I agree with asmhack -- just post the question and someone will answer.

I hate chat rooms. They use up too much resources. So many requests.
I thought there was an IRC chat room on freenode. But yeah, the mini chat approach is a terrible idea. |

FYI, I know some guys up on irc.freenode.com channel #asm. There's people there every hour. I think it's a dedicated channel too.

^it was never announced so how do you expect ppl to know.
And I guess people have other valuable things to do than sit in a chat room waiting for a newbie to show up, or watching some guy spam |

In which case I'd be the spammer, because I love to .... inform

Chat rooms is an easy to way reduce a large community to a small cult. It is a good idea the first few seconds, but in practice it will do more harm than good. Chats will make experienced programmers say stupid things because they have to answer directly and don't have time to think the answer over, and this will create conflicts, storm debates, personal vendetta and create criminal know-how gang lords (who is the quickest to answer) I've seen this before.

Last I checked you had no obligation to post instantly, it's not a job interview. I personally take my time to re-ply because it is my time, i'm not getting paid to be there idea machine. So might as well chill ![]() |
