Few days ago fasm archive checksum changed.
I'm maintainer of FreeBSD fasm port.

I'm wondering was this silent update, expired cache, or someone hacked fasm.

Looking forward to hearing from you

The last update of libc package, as listed on the download page (and also in atom channel), was 24 Sep 2011 10:30:07 UTC. The checksum should not have changed since then.

Here's line from FreeBSD portscout (auto tool to check distfile availability)
Code:
=> Attempting to fetch http://flatassembler.net/fasm-1.69.34.tar.gz
fetch: http://flatassembler.net/fasm-1.69.34.tar.gz: size mismatch: expected 230885, actual 230911

The size of archive is also saved in FreeBSD ports distinfo, and it's also used to verify distfile integrity

Here's filesize and SHA256 sum difference
Code:
-SHA256 (fasm-1.69.34.tar.gz) = c77aa94ae1052e26f6f815aa734f6a26b621adf26fb3bc0dcb6ab7c5f38c4b23
-SIZE (fasm-1.69.34.tar.gz) = 230885
+SHA256 (fasm-1.69.34.tar.gz) = 272de9ae8c4f59da5795c6944545db752f89d081134c5455c07a7cdf52c492fe
+SIZE (fasm-1.69.34.tar.gz) = 230911

I wouldn't though of asking (thought it's silent update, like last time), but lwhsu at FreeBSD asked me to verify this, before patch to update port was commited

Could you store the exact date of an update somewhere when fetching package for initial sum calculation? This would make this checking easier. Date is actually the version number for package - the version in package name refers only to fasm's core.

Here's full log:
http://pointyhat.freebsd.org/errorlogs/i386-errorlogs/e.7.20110929093118/fasm-1.69.34.log

Size mismatch was detected on Oct 7 03:15:05 UTC 2011

However these checks doesn't run every day for every port

Here's where that version was introduced into distinfo: http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=160958

Weird that the patch was apparently submitted on September 23, when fasm 1.69.34 wasn't released until September 24.

1.69.34 was first released September 23 (you can see that in the whatsnew.txt), but there was some update on September 24.
