Possibly, but he used psychedelics before the cancer (assuming he didn't have cancer in his early 20's).

When I saw this morning annotation "Steve Jobs, 1955 - 2011" below the Google logo I was deeply moved. We all knew that his health status became worse but I'm sure nobody expected that... so fast.

I think it wouldn't be improper to post one of the Steve Jobs quotations here:
Steve Jobs wrote:
No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true. Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Sad... indeed.
Steve was right about living the life now, btw.
We're all have limited time on this amazing world surrounded by coldness of space.

It was a shocking news in the morning.
The tech world just lost one if its most profilic leader.

Now that Steve left Apple (again), will Apple still be as innovative?

He's admitted "trying LSD" - I wonder how much and what he actually did. I kinda don't think he'd been able to build up Apple if he was totally spaced out all the time Wink

I think no. Steve Jobs was the inspiration of Apple products. Now, Apple without Steve Jobs is not Apple...

I think he passed his passion to others - Apple will be fine IMO.

I don't know how much truth there is to this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ryan-grim/read-the-never-before-pub_b_227887.html
Quote:
The letter led to a roughly 30-minute conversation between Doblin and Jobs, says Doblin, but no contribution to the cause. "He was still thinking, 'Let's put it in the water supply and turn everybody on,'" recalls a disappointed Doblin, who says he still hasn't given up hope that Jobs will come around and contribute.
...I've always had more respect for Woz than Jobs - no intent to speak ill of the dead.

everybody and everything will die! one day, or another.

even humanity will end one day, and let place to an icy desert planet for a long period before nature wake up again and put again multicolor life forms on the earth, this is the 150000 years cycle.

there are many other cycles in the life.
from the trade daily cycle, to the 250Myears galactic rotation cycle.

somewhere between, there was steve jobs.
and around steve jobs, there were a market, a brand, a product, an economic and politic world. leading us to a more clean and controled world, instead of a free one. that's why steve jobs made apple, and why apple became one of the main companies in the world, a good idea became a pure dumb thing, inducing the worse comportments in some humans.
from the guy who thinks he is better than everybody because he have a macbook, to the guy who thinks every apple user should die in the worse way you can imagine...

many people identified to the apple/jobs philosophy, but it was just something like a costume for the real owners of the project.
i think even jobs was just a tool for something over him.

remember the goal of the society, we are the ground, but over the ground, there are people who like a lot to never return to ground.

and between us and them, there are people like steve jobs, that are used as interface.
