. . .

. . .

FreeDOS kernel 2040 released 2011-06-26:

http://www.freedos.org/

http://sourceforge.net/projects/freedos/files/Kernel/2040/

The complete version history (included file is outdated) :

http://freedos.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/freedos/kernel/trunk/docs/history.txt?revision=1640&view=markup&sortby=date&pathrev=1640

Preparing release of the 1.1 distro:

http://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/distributions/

I installed the kernel ... but didn't test any of the distros yet.

PS: FreeDOS is done in mostly C (WATCOM or Borland) with some NASM code Neutral

I was very sad to read "Pat Villani", who coded most of FreeDos, died age 57, i had many email correspondents with him over a 32bit FreeDos. Sad

Dex4u, if you have any knowledge about him from those mails, feel free to edit his (new-ish) Wikipedia page. I had a hard time not letting it get deleted.

P.S. July 26 is latest unreleased version, FreeDOS 1.1 test#3:
