Maybe they haven't heard of something called QA. A device driver has to be many orders of magnitude easier to QA than a new chip (which Intel makes) or a device (which Intel also makes). So what's the problem? They can't figure out how to verify their own device drivers work with their own devices? That's seems very lame to me.

So it's like to 'code' the driver in a DSL, which later be translated into C code.
Not so automatic, I guess, because you still need to code. Confused

And maybe then, MS will then teach its critics who is the one responsible for providing proper drivers for hardware.
