Worked for me, on 32-bit Ubuntu 10.4. Some problems I noticed:

1. Description contains cyrillics:
Quote:
flat assembler
This is opensource assembler with like NASM syntax and powerfull macrolanguages. Fasm это открытый ассемблер с
NASM-синтаксимсом и мощным макроязыком. В поставке имеются примеры, а на сайте подробное руководство пользователя и разработчика

2. I went to /usr/share/fasm/examples and tried to compile one example. I got "write failed", and had to su for this to work. Is this a proper place for examples? Or is this just some file access rights issue?

That generic error message is not best either in this case, but it would probably need more drastic source patch than just few lines.

Maybe this will help, I made a deb containing 1.69.14 and examples, docs, etc: http://board.flatassembler.net/topic.php?t=7882&start=78 You could copy directory structures from it to yours.

Hello,

I would appreciate an AMD64 version as well. I have a computer with Ubuntu 10.04 AMD64, if that is somehow helpful.

Thanks for the package though! Wanted to make it at a point but got lost in the technicalities (deb packages need to come with source and since FASM is written in itself, I couldn't figure out how to solve the dependencies).

I made one, it's at the link I posted above. The only real difference, since Fasm itself is 32bit, is that the package identifies itself as amd64, rather than i386.
