Would you like the idea of translating the FASM documentation into other languages?
Or share / translate any FASM tutorial in your language?Wink

I know that there is Google translator, but the translation is poor or not well understood. Nothing better than something done by someone who knows!!!

In addition to expanding the use of flat to more people around the World.

First we try to translate some documentation, like the: flat assembler 1.68
Programmer's Manual.

I refer to the following documentation:
http://flatassembler.net/docs.php

It will be necessary that some members who are bilingual verify and provide the translations.

Tell us which language you speak and cooperate.

I hope that many of you are interested in sharing their knowledge in your native language. Very Happy

I should clarify that I speak Spanish and I understand English, but not at level of a professional.

*This is a possible way of working *

I suggest that we divide the documentation, if is too long we divided in parts.
If someone is working on some document write in this "post" the name of the document and the person or persons who are translating the document, the date and the progress of the translation.

Once the translation is done, upload the archive and put the links for download here.

For example:

Translate the documentation FASM
***************************************

Current list of translate Documents:

Documents: start date: status: available languages persons

Fasm Manual Jan-09-10 Translating Spanish&French Santiago, Chris
****************************************

So what you think about, would like to cooperate, have any idea or suggestion.

Wink

i made an attempt in french a long time ago. but i lost it and gave up.
i am ready to restart the project if (and only if) many of us make it togheter, and share the results in real time, to give a sort of motivation of the challenge (coding in asm is a challenge itself, then, i like challenge), and it can be possible to have a linux like multilinguage base for fasm befor e2011.

maybe a multilingual fasm package can be interesting, but for that, the source code of fasm should be modified to separate strings from the rest of the source, and pack them is one single include file, then, just compile with the stringxx.inc you want.

for example:
Code:
To define data or reserve a space for it, use one of the directives listed in
table 1.3. The data definition directive should be followed by one or more of
numerical expressions, separated with commas. These expressions define the
values for data cells of size depending on which directive is used. For
example "db 1,2,3" will define the three bytes of values 1, 2 and 3
respectively.

in french:
Code:
Pour définir des données ou leur reserver de l'espace, utiliser une des
directives listées dans le tableau 1.3. Les directives de définitions de
données doivent être suivies par une ou plusieurs expressions numériques,
séparées par des virgules. Ces expressions définissent des valeurs pour les
cellules de données d'une taille dependant de la directive utilisée. Par
exemple "db 1,2,3" (define byte) définira trois octets consécutifs de valeurs 1, 2 et 3.

we should translate to a .txt file? Also, it will be put in fasm site like a link (a link to each language) or like a download option?

write it in .txt (can be edited with fasmw directlly), after, it can be formated to the desired presentation. including additional work.
like a link seems to be a good solution, for example via a list, we choose language, default set to english.

Is very good that people are interested, we should wait a while for more people have the opportunity to participate as well, before we start.

Meanwhile, think of how we might organize, and prepare your documents.

The idea of translating the fasmw (FASM for windos 32) is very interesting.

The file type of documentation could be. txt or .doc .pdf, Maybe for big ones.

.txt is fine for small documents, and to have the ability to upload documents to the main page or forum.
A link to each language for download would be fine,
or a link for all laguages package.

Greetings to all (Saludos a todos!!!) Very Happy

i started to translate the FAQ (bc it's the small one).

I will put .txt file name as
Code:
pt-br - faq.txt
. Inside it, some texts/words will appear among a directive "/" to indicate that word/text should be formated like a code (as it appear in the site right now - see link above). Well, it's my suggestion.

example:
Code:
simplesmente escrever /cmp dword[ebx],'ABCD'/.

diffrences between 1.64 and 1.69 (the last) are very few, it will be quite fast to complete it to reach 1.69 version.

I want my own translation in RUSSIAN language, therefore i start translation today. Of course
this is rough and require corrections.

-------------------------------- Here is the beginning of my translation. --------------------------------

Глава 1

Введение.

Эта глава содержит всю исключительно важную информацию по начальному изучению
ассемблера. Если вы опытный программист ассемблерщик, то вам нужно прочитать минимум
из этой главы, до использования компилятора.

1.1 Обзор компилятора.

Flat Assembler
