What do you guys feel about code hosting. Is it a good idea? Should every one keep their codes to themselves and reveal it to the world? Or should every share their codes to the world.

"reveal" means to show, show is similar to share in this context.

Right now, I think code should be shared. But it's all about which side of the payment you're viewing the situation from. I'm sure that once I get a job as a software developer, my opinion will change. After all, it's code people will be paying me to use, if I showed it to them, they could compile it their selves, and I wouldn't get paid.

In an ideal world, all code would be open source, and all developers would be compensated without having to keep their source to their selves. But how many people reliably click the donate button for the open source software they download? Not many would be my guess.

I wonder how much Tomasz has made off of Fasm. I would(I'm broke, sorry Tomasz Smile) bet him double that he could make the same in a month, if Fasm were proprietary.

I for one love open source projects and support them, even if I never even look at
the code eg: I dont read C code but suport it anyway as long as the code is open.

Hence why I offer hosting for open source projects only Laughing
