the yahoo mail search feature more looks like a bug,
yeah, free, so, cannot complain,

i was thinking about storing all my yahoo mails to (u named it here) for better search and mail cache,

any "solid working" (u named it here) that you already used? to sort of ditch yahoo mail? gmail? or other email provider,?

thanks.

Use Gmail, it has quite good search engine (you can easily find messages which contain particular phrase or word), truly useful if you have a hundreds of archived messages in your mail account. Wink

Yeah, that's quite possible. Wink

There is very easy way to import all Yahoo mail messages - you can do it in "Settings" section of Gmail account. Smile

I use thunderbird to access a postfix server (my desktop), which gets mail directly, but sends mail by bouncing it off gmail (well, for reasons i'm sure you'll find out if you try to make your own mail server). Although neither google nor yahoo ever lost any of my data, i still have had too many data loss ("virus") problems before, so i don't trust anyone anymore except myself. I'm the only one who cares about important information that's meant for me.
