hello all.

as i want to create a cartoon, i need a software.
i tried synfig (linux), it is too slow (too much very much), and very complex for me.

i tried moviemaker (M$) and it is very limited and boring to use.

then, i want to create this soft, but as i don't code for windows, i need people to help to do the windows and opengl layers, it will be simpler for me to code the sequencer with a fool approach layer.

it needs:

1/ a pattern approach, based on image imports from file systems.

2/ a convertion tool to build them as videos files.

3/ a tool to create soundtrack

4/ a simple image manipulation tool to modify and color them from the PC.

5/ a twain importer to acquire primitives from a scanner or else.

6/ a team to do that.

of course, the windows layer should be separated in order to port the soft to other platforms.

i hope there will be people interrested enough to join the project.

i think it needs at least 4 coders to do it.

with fasm of course.

lets go for the preproduction discution now.
thanks!

I can write a Win32/OpenGL 2D tile rendering engine pretty easily 4u.
It sounds like u need alpha blending, what 4-channel image format will u use?
I just hate to use 24 bit with 8 bit mask for blending...

i will use mainly PNG because of freeness.

and maybe some advanced stuff like "select trasparent color or region" will exists.

thanks a lot bitshifter.

i hope we will collaborate on a brand new concept, and remember, it is the first step before the creation of my (and others) animation films.

if you want to discuss more about, and start the job, we need to chat on MSN (it is the only one still working under WIN98 Sad )

thanks. & pm me for MSN address.

Yeah, blender 3D can do that. It's very powerful.
You could try using it, but if you are just starting to use it, it's going to be difficult for to understand the Macro-keys and techniques used.

I strongly advice using it.

of course, blender is able to do it. but i don't know anything to it's use.

that's why i beleve it will be faster and easier to code something specialized with fasm, win32, openGL and fool.

indeed, thanks for advices.
