In order to set VESA 1.2/2.0 modes, you have to use INT 0x10. But do I have to switch back to real mode for that or not?

Or you could set up a V86 environment... but for simple stuff, it's probably a much better idea to temporarily disable interrupts (remember to mask out HW interrupts too), make the switch to real mode, etc. v86 does require a bit of code Smile

You might be able to do it by setting a 16-bit stack segment.
