I thought this might be in the FAQ, but with Mac OSX now solidly in the x86 camp, I'm wondering if there's active development or at least plans on a Mac fasm?

Many thanks in advance.

It might be, but i doubt it. There is a "libc" version you could try to get working.

Shouldn't it be trivial to port the *nix version over?

I thought the *nixs and *BSDs used similar structures for their executables..

Interesting read (way back in 2003), but a little hard for me to follow in parts. I'm a fasm newbie.

I'd like to use fasm has the final code generator for a Win/Lin/Max ported language (and compiler, of course). Hence my interest in a Mac fasm.

My current plan is to push ahead with fasm on Win/Lin and hope for the best on Mac (it's doing pretty darn well in the marketplace, and deserves it).

I'm *not* making any promises, but if the lack of a modern x86 mac is what is preventing a nice x86 Mac fasm port, I might be in a position to do something about that sometime in the future.
