Windows 98 SE, fasmw v1.69.07 (found in v1.69.03), default configuration.

Pressing Ctrl+F9 (and Escape), then F6, then Ctrl+F6, then “a” when fasmw contains a source code with syntax errors crashes fasmw (memory read error at 0x004162a6).

Nice combo. Smile
However the "F6" step is not really necessary here, I reproduced the crash just by going straight to calculator after the failed assembly.

FYI: v1.67.38 does not produce this problem.

Well, in 1.67 you don't have a Calculator feature (under Ctrl+F6) at all, so it's not a surprise.

Calculator? Oh no, I hope fasm isn't moving towards bloat! Sad

There are a zillion calculators available for free download. And since they are all external independent programs they won't cause anything else to crash. Razz

The Great Moore's Law Compensator (TGMLC) generally referred to as bloat, is the principle that successive generations of computer software acquire enough bloat to offset the performance gains predicted by Moore's Law.

The reason behind this is one is to provide you with ability to easily calculate the value of expression using the same evaluation engine that assembler uses. Thus you can feed it with the same expression you use in the source code and check out the result.
