I have an archive of all the demos from 25b.com.

Have you seen the good new 256b demos on pouet.net?

You don't know what 256b.com was??

ONLY the best website full of awesome 256 byte demos.

EDIT:
Here's an archive of the demos...although it's a bit older than I thought, from 2004. Missing about 80 demos.

Edfed, could you upload what you have?

the original is somewhere in a drive.
the modified archive is not finished, i should continue to rename files, adapt what it can be in fasm syntax, and continue to filter what is really not working.

the zip is 2Mb lengh, maybe if someone wants to continue what i've started...

Yeah, it's a shame the site is down, that was some cool stuff.

EDIT: Although annoying that most didn't come with sources (and some people probably would object to disassembly, even of stuff this small / trivial !!)

i think it can be possible to build a library around theses demos.

something that allow to make advanced visual effects.

what do you think about?

The domain name was managed by Insomniac/Neon ( the original creator of 256b.com ) and I managed the hosting and site ... somehow.

When I renewed the hosting, the site worked for me for a few days or so, so I thought that things were fine.

I'm trying to renew the whole shebang. Will see how that goes and if I get some news today or Monday.

I'm not goodly with domain things. What is the best course of action to boot the domain hijacker ?

Aparently the domain expired September 7th 2008. If I' not mistaken there is 1-3 month period post the expiry of a domain name where the original owner can claim it back. Is that correct ? If so, I can't really handle this since the domain was registered by Insomniac.

Any help would be much appreciated.

p01 couldn't renew the domain, and the guy who originally registered it is nowhere to be found.

Odd, you'd think that if he was leaving for financial reasons or such, he'd give the rights to some one... Maybe he's not with us...

I love going through these sometimes. It's amazing how much can fit in just 256 bytes.

AHHHhhhhhh, super wide page! Weird, though. It's only super wide when I'm making a reply, not when I'm just viewing it. The image just gets cropped then.

Thanks man.

I guess they just deleted the old one, probably a time limit on how long they can go un-dled.

They are mostly .ZIPs (but a few .RARs), and a quick look "only" shows 87+7 .ASM sources. Sad
(Yes, I know, they can be disassembled, but some people frown on that.)

EDIT: A cool idea would be to have us rank our Top Ten favorites! Anybody?? Smile
