I feel sad for the pink unicorns that live in the place that NASA are going to crash the probe into. I hope they can all run away in time to avoid any problems.

What do you mean "what is revolution talking about?". It seems like everyone else is making stuff up so I can also. Razz

Daydream Believer

When you daydream, all things are possible. You can fly like the wind on a unicorn, across a magical plain strewn with flowers and a million stars. With his rainbow mane, and jewelled horn he can whisk you off to lands unknown for adventures untold. Who knows, If you believe enough, your dreams may become reality!

wow, amazing artwork! Surprised

PS: About the 20 Km thing, perhaps it is the moon dust that will be spread in a radius of 20 Km? Probably 20 Km is still too much but sound more feasible...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedan_Crater <- Created with a nuclear explosion and is not even a kilometer.

BTW, this looks like a mountain for you? Satellite map

The terrain map is a little clear in showing that it is actually a hole: Terrain map

[edit]People complained about the links length, so I changed them...

The Centaur rocket stage weighs 5,216 pounds (2,366 kg), about as much as a sport utility vehicle, and will slam into the moon at about 5,600 mph (9,010 kph). Researchers believe the blast will create a debris plume about 12 miles (20 km) wide and send moon dirt soaring to heights of 6.2 miles (10 km), where it would be illuminated by the sun.
Not sure but I think in no way they are saying that the crater will be that wide.

The first and much bigger crash is set for 7:31 a.m. EDT. That's when an empty rocket that weighs 2.2 tons should hit the crater Cabeus and create a minicrater about half the size of an Olympic pool. It should kick up a plume of lunar debris about six miles high.
So who do we believe? Yahoo, with 20km? Or more reputable sites that say about 0.020km?

Perhaps Borsuc/Yahoo made a mistake and thought 20m was 20km?

I'm sorry to say this, but the Moon did NOT crack in half. I repeat the Moon did not crack in half (per my prediction earlier in this thread).

I know, it's unfortunate, and for those not keeping track this is the FIRST time I've ever been wrong.

obviously they did it for some military reason, or to bomb some aliens. They're covering something up.

There's no freaking reason they should have used a bomb for this, with all the robot probes they have on the Moon. oh wait, they're Americans, so maybe it's the only solution they know.

But the big live public splash people anticipated didn't quite happen. Screens got fuzz and no immediate pictures of the crash or the six-mile plume of lunar dust that the mission was all about. The public, which followed the crashes on the Internet and at observatories, seemed puzzled.

NASA officials said their instruments were working, but live photos of the actual crash were missing. Some select photos should be ready by a 10 a.m. press conference, they said.

But so far all NASA had was "images on the way in," said NASA spokesman Grey Hautaluoma.

so, conspiracy some more???

Borsuc: Yes, they had to bomb those pesky pink unicorns.

Damn unicorns, always just playing and having a good time enjoying themselves, how dare they not suffer like everyone else!
