Hello guys, i recently got a netbook with via mobile 1.6 ghz procesor.
The problem is I can't use some blowup antivirus as it's get a little bit slow and procesor temp round about 55 C.

wich is the best method to stay clean without depending on antivirus.

In some thread of this forum, a read about sandbox, but couldn't find any of this free.

A firewall, preferably that works per APPLICATION, not port, level, and checks md5+crc checksums if the app is modified... not free though Sad

Disable scripts (javascript) & plugins, like for instance use Firefox and download NoScript addon. Only allow them on sites that you trust.

You can scan your laptop with an antivirus manually, when you don't use the laptop, once a week or so. But I don't think it's necessary.

NOD32 has *nix/*BSD/Solaris support, too, and is lighter on resources than clamAV. Very Happy

It has a pretty good firewall as well.

If you want a standalone one, though, try Jetico or Comodo.
