Reset explorer as in "end task" it then "file -> new task -> explorer.exe"? I do this occasionally when I make registry changes and need instant results without reboot. Is this what you mean?

Yes, i need registry changes instant results without reboot.
But i some not understand this...
You say about taskmgr.exe? But i need promptly as cmd.exe or cmd script commands.

And i want it as an additional features for logon manipulations Smile (teory or practic)...

Using the command line you can start programs, but I dont see any function to end them:
http://www.computerhope.com/starthlp.htm Works with all windows versions(Maybe not 7)

EDIT: Forget last edit, TSKILL will work in all Win XP installs (taskkill will not) THIS IS ONLY FOR XP
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/ts_cmd_tskill.mspx?mfr=true

Use like
Code:
tskill explorer
start explorer

Edit: Yup, that works. Too bad the task killing command is xp only...
EDIT: WTF, every other windows has taskkill, but XP has only tskill and only has taskkill if you have XP Professional...
How would you detect this from command line?
Some 'ver' then 'if' commands?

Does it have to use cmd.exe? You could write a program, and have that called by the command prompt.
