Hi everyone, I stumbled on this site by accident and, being an ageing nerd with assembler tendencies, I decided to download FASM and have a look.

Now, having done the search thing and also had a look at the FAQ's as well as the manual, I am a bit embarrassed to ask ... where do I get a linkage editor so that the object modules can be linked to an executable, or am I in out-of-date mainframe mode and a linkage editor is not needed with this product?

Thanks,

Pete.

Exactly. Look at the examples, most of them compiles to executable directly. However, you can create MS COFF output, in that case you'll need a linker but fasm package does not provide any.

When making a windows executable file in FASM there is no linking step. Although I think you can make it output an object file if you want to link it yourself.

EDIT: Loco posted while I was writing my post lol.

Thanks for your help guys, Greatly appreciated. I am more than happy not to have to mess around with a link editor as well. I will now start to test the resilience of Linux and windows crash recovery sub-systems Smile)
