Hi, I'm new here (and new to assembly). I am trying to get symbolic debugging information linked in with my binaries, so I can debug with gdb (and see comments and avoid gdb's hideous AT&T syntax disassembly). Does anyone know how to do this?

I am using gcc as my linker (rather, as a frontend for my linker, because I don't want to have to find out which file each c external is in).

I saw that fasm has a -s option for outputting symbolic information in the 'fas' format. Is there anything I can do with the file it outputs, or do I have to write some software to use it?

Is there either a fas -> DWARF or fas -> stabs converter I don't know about? Should I write one?

Yes, please! There is no one yet.

Read this thread for more information: http://board.flatassembler.net/topic.php?t=9792

It would be great if you could join development and create some converters.
