Well, I got a funny mail recently:

Quote:

Not much text inside, just an attachment: coaxed.jpg (12'200 Bytes)

Well, I was that rude that I checked it for quality, look how many faults the sender was able to pack into just 1 ( ONE !!! ) mail:

1. He ASS'ume'd that I would use IE - WRONG

2. He ASS'ume'd that I would be interested in Viagra & Co - WRONG

3. He ASS'ume'd that spamming is a fine way to do business - WRONG

4. He ASS'ume'd that I would be that stupid to buy the crap drugs and thus mailing me would generate profit for him - WRONG

5. He brewed a nice truecolor image, but then he saved it as GIF with just 64 colors and ugly dithering - apparently M$-PAINT style - WRONG

6. He changed the mind and tried to save it again as JPG (note that now source had 64 colors only), but missclicked in the format menu and saved it as coaxed.jpg being in fact PNG format - WRONG

7. Last but not least, his PNG is of course poorly optimized - can be losslessly reduced down to 10'521 Bytes (see attach), could be even smaller without the ugly ditherings

Description: COAXED.PNG 10'521 Bytes - was "coaxed.jpg" 12'200 Bytes
Filesize: 10.27 KB
Viewed: 2529 Time(s)

COAXED.PNG

Do you know the average conversion rate of spam? Around 1 in 12 million. Almost everyone that receives this nonsense ignores it. You should have ignored it also.

BTW: The jpg/png thing is probably deliberate. No doubt some spam scanning software somewhere is confused by it and passes it through to the unwitting reader (like you!).

BTW2: Can you please mask the url in the above, it looks like you are advertising for the spammers!

It's not a hoax. As Borsuc noticed, the URL is the Microsoft site.
