It is a program already of two years old and made to use textual dictionary to translate from Chinese language. It has Russian interface (and not intended to be changed), but i decided to post it here also, as it is a fasm source example also

there you may find something in writing small (36kb) unicode win32 application with plugin system

although it has rus interface and i'm using it to translate to russian, it may use converted cedict dictionary to translate from chinese to english. if somebody will be interesting - i can explain how to use it attached dictionaries are just cutted parts to reduce size for testing only!



it is useless for other languages because of manner of finding variants, but it can be used to translate from, say, Japanese also. it ignores spaces and line breaks when analises text, as some chinese texts may break word just at the end of line and continue on the next, as well as i met texts where all glyphs where separated with spaces: in this case this program is off-road track

be sure, it will not be finished ever!

i just find the words there quite nice, so translated it as below.

让我入睡入睡
let, me (i), fall into sleep, fall into sleep

我怕黑怕黑
me (i), scared of dark/black/evil, scared of dark/black/evil

忘掉过去过去
forget about, past/history, past/history

我无法面对
me (i) couldn't face/challenge .... reffer to previous past/history.

blind instruction:
1.unpack
2.run shoodict
3.ctrl+o
4.choose "mu lan.utf8.txt"
5.f7
6.walk through text title and first two lines (with reduced dictionaries it can translate only few words from there)

for more:
1.go to this page
2.download cedict.dsl.zip (not hard to find )
3.put it into shoodict folder
4.edit shoodict.ini: replace cedict_t.dsl with cedict.dsl
4a. possible delete other *.dsl as they have no practical sense from ini
5.run shoodict
6.press F6 to translate anything in any window of the application from cursor

you can get the fresh cedict there and convert it with attached tool to be possible to use with this translator.

yes, i like it mostly i like chinese characters i made an attempt to learn it some years ago, but was stuck because of lack of time. may be in future will continue
