Netsukuku is a mesh network or a p2p net system that generates and sustains itself autonomously. It is designed to handle an unlimited number of nodes with minimal CPU and memory resources. Thanks to this feature it can be easily used to build a worldwide distributed, anonymous and not controlled network, separated from the Internet, without the support of any servers, ISPs or authority controls.

This net is composed by computers linked physically each other, therefore it isn't build upon any existing network. Netsukuku builds only the routes which connects all the computers of the net.

In other words, Netsukuku replaces the level 3 of the model iso/osi with
another routing protocol.

The Domain Name System is also replaced by a decentralised and distributed system: the Abnormal Netsukuku Domain Name Anarchy.
Okay, so who maintains the interconnecting cables? If there is no ISP who will install the interconnecting cables in the first place? I think at the least the local telephone companies would need to provide some type of connection.

I thought the next generation of internet would be the grid:

That grid thing sounds too far-fetched IMO. The hologram thing is also ridiculous because it has nothing to do with the internet does it? Seriously what the hell am I the only one who doesn't get the connection?

And you still cannot eliminate lag because light doesn't travel with infinite speed, despite the bold claims about gaming.

Also did I got this right? The Grid will be the end of speed improvements even if it happens? Surprised What will they advertise as next?

The Grid is already in use at the LHC. It is downloading at 300 MBps or something. I doubt it will ever hit the UK or any country though to be honest. It would be too high maintenance and would probably cost too much amoungst other things.

Which makes it more like LAN rather than world-wide internet...
