Hmm, I used Chrome a while back, but it creates a new process for each new tab. I know this has some advantages such as if one tab freezes, then its just that tab that will close rather than the whole thing, but other than that I didn't see any upsides to it. It is much easier to do everything else such as memory management if the process just used threads.

The main purpose of isolating each tab in a separate process was security, not freezing prevention that could be achieved by multi-threading anyway.
