In the background I usually have some educational show filling in the silence while doing the daily mundane tasks. Humbled and inspired with hope for humanity they help to counter the negativity/insanity in the world for me. Other times I just want to step back and entertain a larger perspective.

Before the video revolution on the web I'd watch the Discover Channel or PBS; but now many of these great programs are availble on YouTube and web sites like FORA.tv have evolved. Also, many universities/corporations are actively bringing entertaining educational content to the public. UCTV (University of California), AtGoogleTalks and TED for example, are fun to browse.

Recently, I was reminded of this great PBS show The Ascent of Man - 10: World within World - many episodes of which I've missed.

Horizon, one of the TV programmes of BBC, was my favourite "educational show" in the times when I still watched TV. Here you have the transcript of one of the shows that I watched years ago: The Bible Code. Wink
