I think it is like this:

If you have some uninitialised data then you get the 0x80 flag set:
Code:
section '.data' data readable writeable
db ? ;set the 0x80 flag    


But if you have an empty section, or only initialised data then the 0x80 flag is not set:
Code:
section '.data' data readable writeable
db 1 ;set the 0x40 flag

I like macros, they are a good thing.

I don't do the COFF dance, sorry, no macros for that. Linker? What's that? .obj file? What's that?
