Is there anyway I can start a graphic mode and access graphics manually while in console mode? (not in a window)
I am using Ubuntu 7.04, but anyway, my intention is to find a standard way to do it, that will work on all or most Linux distros.

If you don't know the answer to this, but know something related that can help a little, please do reply! Thank you in advance!

Again im afraid im going to have to redirect you to example programs which fit the purpose Smile

theres 2 that i know off the top of my head, SVGAlib and fbdev http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Framebuffer-HOWTO.html. One uses the SVGA mode of the graphics card, the other uses a framebuffer device.

Good luck Smile
