Does anyone know where I can find a good text editor with FASM syntax highlighting. The only one I know of is the KDE embedded advanved text editor. Which is no use for trying to program windows compatibility.

I use http://notepad-plus.sf.net for all light programming tasks... works pretty well, imho.

By changing their extension to .asm, as should be? Smile

Or manually choosing language->Assembler, or Settings->Styler Configurator, where you can add the extensions of your choice.

VIM does support FASM syntax highlighting (:syntax enable then :set syntax=fasm since it defaults to GAS).

Or try something like WinASM Studio, RadASM, SciTE, etc.

BTW, don't forget the really obvious choices: FASMW, FASMD, or Fresh.

I did say about windows compatibility but I'm using notepad++ now

I chose not to use .asm but .fasm so that on the linux nothing gets mixed up with things in other syntaxes (besides .fasm is used in the examples)

I don't understand: VIM (and probably more famously, GVIM) both natively run on Windows. Or do you mean behave "like Windows" does (OLE, MDI, or whatever)?? But whatever, seems like you found your choice.
