1 How to detect modern 64bit CPUs with cpuid instruction ???
2 What values are returned with cpuid for these CPUs ??? (stepping,family, etc)

Search the page for "Athlon 64" and "Turion 64" (I'm not sure what means "Sempron TT00+, 64-bit").

Ivan2k2 - you may be able to make use of the Brand ID and Brand String CPUID instruction to get the information you need.

Brand String is a fairly new extension to the CPUID instruction and returns an ascii string identifying the CPU and maximum frequency.
