are you wanting a boot file? i have a few, but their all different, some require to be rawritten to a floppy, then you copy the kernel to the floppy, some require both to be rawritten, or theres cdpod, it shows a good way of making the kernel load itself... if you want cdpod ill try and refind the link to it, or if dex reads this he would have it.

Any that you have would be helpful, Thanks
To help answer your question though, I'm wanting to put together the strap loader that brings together and reads the rest of the bootable information. |

what kind of mode are you looking into using 16bit or 32bit? i have examples for both, 16bit that accepts input like DOS, and cdpod for 32bit, and other various things you can do in 16bit

thats not exactly what i meant, then again i didnt word it fully, what i was wondering was for your kernel, did you want to use 16bit or 32bit, your boot file will always use 16bit, but your kernel can use either 16bit (thus interfacing DOS) or 32bit (where you have to set up protected mode, A20 etc.).. but i still know what you mean, so a 32bit kernel is what you need, ill get the cdpod example for you, it shows how to set up 32bit mode and everything like that.

heres the link, its the 512 compo page, scroll half way down the page and you will see CdPod, dex was known as Ashley4 then.
http://board.flatassembler.net/topic.php?t=2164&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=50 one thing though that CdPod dosent do is show how to setup A20, if you need that i can show you how, its really easy |
