would it be possible to allow something like this in the source

%TIMESTAMP% so when the file is compiled it is replaced with the current
time. but the source still says %TIMESTAMP% that way everytime it is compiled
the time will be updated.

it is so i can put it in my "version" dialog box to know which version and time it was compiled.
at the moment i have to manually change date and time, and it gets a bit tedios when trying to fix bugs but its not that important really.

other than that, all is good.

There is the %T symbol which always has the value of current timestamp (manual, section 1.2.4).

Look also here for the macros that convert the timestamp to date and time.
