I see that "fasmw" works if "fasmw.INI" is in the directory where the ".asm" is. I guess I don't follow best practices here.

fasm uses the environment variable to find included files.
fasmw uses the famsw.ini file for its settings. Ideally you would have the ini file in the same folder as the executable. |

@revolution, The ini file is in the same folder as fasmw.exe .
fasmw is in the path, so it is globally available. My .asm file is eslewhere, so If I run fasmw file.asm from where my .asm file is, then it will recreate a ini file there and it won't work until I update that .ini file. |

Well, that looks promising. Has anybody from this forum been involved in development of this platform? Integration of fasm with that IDE suggests that may be the case...
