You want to do some printing? Okay, no problem, just accept some more spying and unwanted ads and then we'll let you do some printing.

You are welcome,
The MS team.

Commercial software like Windows has to care for their users.

Microsoft has to baby their users or it will face the consequences. Because if they do not do their best, then certainly someone could sue them for allowing them to install something without updating and then suffer the consequences.

Selling software and offering support is hard and not everyone will be pleased.

Software support and help is hard and not all users will be pleased and the supporter will always have to face unfair situations just as when the ignorance of the user was the culprit and not the software itself.

Then, in order to avoid such errors by ignorance many restrictions and requirements are set upon the users.

It is not a problem of Microsoft or the users, it is just very, very hard to please all while having to care for a large user base.

If Windows is not helping you to achieve your goals, then you may want to consider a less restrictive alternative.

There are pros and cons on both sides.

restrictions and requirements to ensure users do not install any OS besides windows-shit, so i dont think its related to errors or ignorance.

well i see its microsoft's problem, massive amount of computer users and/or programmers were pleased by windows 7.

forced install and update candy sugar into os,

even a removal of that will cause os to redownload again, are they going to repeat the idea this candy is integrated into Windows 10 core os dll?

ignorance could be solved through education, hopefully,

eg rules like,
forced update before you could turn off your pc
wait for os to update before you could login,
os need to scan and using CPU to do its job, stealing resources away from uses tasks,
os need candy games in start menu,

windows 10 is damn it, surely it is part of changes to evolve the meaning of os, it seems like a terrible and horrible evolution,

Yeah, MS has become extremely authoritarian with Win10. Forcing many things. Requiring the users to accept ever more unwanted updates, ads, surveys and socialised apps. Also the spying, monitoring and lock-in doesn't make things better for the user. The users have no freedom, no control and no alternatives.

And the manufacturers are complicit with the lock-ins. Requiring signed boot loaders with keys only available to MS. Unless you are willing to end your warranty and hack into your BIOS then you can't boot anything else, ever.

Hello from the other side. LTSB used to be quite good. LTSC was somewhat more problematic while installing (3 attempts to install successfully) but is still usable without all the problems of mainstream Win10 versions.

What makes you think Win11 (if it ever exists) will be better? It could be worse. More intrusive, more spying, more ads. etc. Less control, less freedom, less choice, etc.

I wouldn't be so quick to want the next version until I knew more.

Old joke says that Windows is good every other version. Like Win95 was not perfect, Win98—good, Win2k—not perfect, WinXP—good, WinVista—terrible, Win7—good, Win8—terrible, Win10—good. Win11 (or whatever name they choose) is thus expected to be bad.

Didn't you know that you shouldn't be fiddling with the MS perfection of minimalism. Soon there won't be any icons, or buttons, or anything. Just ads playing 24/7 and your required attention to watch said ads. Combine that with the camera and microphone continuously monitoring you to make sure everything you do is recorded and mined for every last cent.

What, me paranoid and cynical? No, not me.

Hehe, okay of course not that bad. But if you follow the logical progression, thats where it ends. There is a book that describes the brave new world that the big-corps would like us to live in. It's called "1984".

Do you mean DPI settings? They’re still there, in the screen parameters.
