Hello everyone!

I'm new to FASM. I downloaded the zipped file from this site yesterday and when I unzipped it, Windows Defender gave me a warning about a trojan file.

The path of the threat is ..\fasmw172\EXAMPLES\PEDEMO\PEDEMO.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks!

Antivirus software is crappy. It gives too many false positives because it lacks brains (so much for all the AI hype) and power/time to do proper analysis (you want the results immediately, so you can't have good ones). So, any time it sees something a little unusual or encounters a byte sequence that's previously been found in real malware (and that byte sequence may be perfectly innocuous in your program or even in malware), it'll panic.
I'm not sure if/how this can get fixed on large scale.

The AV is the malware. Simply delete the AV and problem solved.
