Can't execute FASM from *buntu Terminal?
Maybe this'll be useful to someone:
After downloading the Linux Package, when you execute it from the terminal like:
Quote:

sid123@asus-laptop:~/Desktop/Zicronix$ ./fasm

This should work, however the terminal does not treat it as an executable and you may get:
Quote:

bash: ./fasm: Permission denied

However there is a workaround. Smile
Tell chmod to force it to become an executable (i.e. remove read-only permissions) Cool:
Quote:

sid123@asus-laptop:~/Desktop/Zicronix$ chmod +x fasm

I thought it could be useful to someone trying to bang their heads. Razz
EDIT: Small Header as pointed out by revolution. Razz

Check your tgz extractor program. Does it copy the permission info also?

BTW: Why the big shouting at size 24?

@revolution:
I used Ubuntu's archive manager, so yeah it seems that the permission info gets lost somewhere.
Post edited, smaller size Smile
I posted it into the FAQ by mistake. Thanks for correcting it. Razz

just wanted to say this has nothing to do with a terminal

i know it's a minor thing, but linux has many shells and they are unrelated to the file system or terminal

bdw
tar xvf file.tar.gz
it is the standard
