Here is an own icon for all kinds of assembler source files.
I added it as a resource into my FasmW executable and added an ".asm"-extension with "DefaultIcon" and a shell lke "open, compile and run" in the Windows registry for explorer integration Laughing .

Should be somewhere like HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.asm and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AsmFile

Nice one Wink
I love to mess with registry => now I can open every file with Notepad or
Hexeditor within context menus Very Happy
...somehow I managed to delete Internex Explorer from the registry so
now I don't have any web-style explorer browsing capabilities but more like
W98 style - I had to disable webcontents Razz

That was close Very Happy
I DL-d IE6 and 2KSP4 everything fine now

well...lets see, both icons are nice Wink
but I admit, the last one is better - you can see, that someone is hacking his/her way into a CPU/MEM/... chip => shows, that this is FASM asm file.

The main problem of this icons is that they are all 32x32 pixels. In Explorer "detailes" view style they are not readable. (because Windows scale them to 16x16).

Ok, maybe both 32 and 16 isn't very hard to do and not much space consuming => like ACDSee has elegantly done

These Fresh-style icons are also goodlooking, they have the same style
and the text is separated from the background.
Though, doesn't Fresh have some symbolic, that could be in the background
instead of plain text. It seems *too clean* or maybe *too ordinary* ^o)

Here's a small utility that assigns *.asm, *.inc, *.frm, and *.fpr files to Fresh (or FASMW), and assigns icons to them.

To use it, copy freshicons.exe file to your Fresh (or FASMW) directory. To associate files to FASMW, rename file in the edit box to "fasmw.exe" (by default it is fresh.exe). Then just press "associate" button, and that's all Smile You have an option to select which file extenstions you would like to assign.

[edit]Just added one feature: now you can browse for Fresh/FASMW executables (click on a button next to the edit box)[/edit]
