Hi!

Is it possible to redirect the printer port to a file? I'm not talking about redirecting the interrupt service (for example device "LPT1") because I see most DOS programs use the port instead. What I want to know if is there is a program that redirects the PORT to a file, somehow. I would like one of those, because I want to analyze some output from programs. Perhaps what I need is a "printer emulator" or something like that. What can I do? Confused

And in general. Is it possible to redirect a hardware port to a software emulation? How can I do something like that? For example, I understand the program AWEUTIL.COM emulates the MPU401 for an AWE64 card!

Look for PRR2FILE on ZDNET oldies... It was published in PCMagazine more than a decade ago and still usefull. It comes with source code too. Or in Simtel mirrors under "msdos/printers"
