This is a good thing.

No more tyranny from the big companie$. As usual, when "security" gets in the way people will just bypass it. Sometimes it just seems pointless even bothering to add security checks to software or hardware.

Revolution thank for the link, it looks wery promissing.
Another solution = buy AMD CPU
if I remember correctly - secure boot is Intel specific

OK, OK with security off - there is a chance to acquire malware. I already have a sample of hypervisor for AMD loaded at UEFI before ms windows OS loader. I was focussed on that the last year. Can't share for public (desire for every malware developer) can discuss private with trusted people only.

microsofts key is already widespread in mainboards (any vendor not willing add it would be self murder)
mainboard vendors are not forced to add Linux key
there is a question where is ms benefit if it supports booting his rival OS
anyway everybody can add another key into database and have both keys there (reflashing the firmware, or maybe using SetVariable ?)

Today's news included word that M$'s newest device, a tablet computer, running a bastardized version of Win 8, is incompatible with the Intel/AMD desktop flavour, about to be released in ten days time.

Wow.

So, it turns out, M$ used Revolution's chip for its new tablet! no more x86....

haha

Very Happy
