Severall months ago, I decided to change a little bit the ascii logo of flat assembler in the programmer's manual just for fun. Is also just ascii characters.

Please post what you think of it.
Code:
                      __
                         / `
                      --+-- ____ ____ ,__ __
                    | ____\ (____` | Y \
                          | / ) \ | | |
                           | \____l_ .____/ | | |

I've attached the file in case the cut & paste trashes the whitespaces.

The original fasm's logo is not ASCII. It uses the BIOS extended character set and is the one in the manual included with DOS version (which is the original version of manual). The scripts that create the Linux and libc packages do the conversion of this manual into pure ASCII (and also remove CR characters at the same time). This conversion replaces the non-ASCII characters used by table drawings and logo with the best-fitting ASCII equivalents I could find. The conversion table used by this tool is:
Code:
  conversion_table:
  repeat 256
    if %-1=0B3h | %-1=0B4h | %-1=0B5h | %-1=0C3h| %-1=0C5h| %-1=0C6h| %-1=0D8h
      db 7Ch
    else if %-1=0C1h| %-1=0C2h| %-1=0C4h
      db 2Dh
    else if %-1=0CDh
      db 3Dh
    else if %-1=0DAh| %-1=0D9h
      db 2Fh
    else if %-1=0BFh| %-1=0C0h
      db 5Ch
    else if %-1=0DBh
      db 3Bh
    else if %-1=0DCh
      db 2Ch
    else if %-1=0DFh
      db 27h
    else
      db %-1
    end if
  end repeat

Some vertical descenders were suspiciously absent. Maybe this instead?

Yes, of course. It was simply my oversight. Smile

Wow! Impressive!
I actually need a logo for my IDE 'About' box.
I think, I'll go for some real bitmap - just do not know yet, what is best to represent FASM IDE.
