The answer is probably staring me in the face, but I can't see it: whenever I call glBindTexture with a nonzero value, texturing breaks.
I'm out of ideas. EDIT: Whoops, code.

Problem solved. glBindTexture also switches texture parameters, breaking mipmapping. How'd I miss that? |
