I would like to know how to change file read/write "pointer" position?

What I'm trying to say is:
example
I write:
AA F0 AF C1 A0
to file.
And suddenly want to change F0 to FF without closing file, and opening it again.
How to do that?
... and how to get "pointer" possition?
